Most people treat Inner Mongolia as a side trip, then realize it's absurdly vast — 2,400km east to west, wider than many European countries. Seeing it all in one go is impossible, but the grassland-plus-desert combo near Hohhot fits perfectly into 5 days.

行程安排 / Day-by-Day Itinerary

第1天：抵达呼和浩特 / Day 1: Arrive in Hohhot

呼和浩特白塔机场离市区近，打车20分钟。高铁从北京出发约2.5小时。到了先去大召寺转转——400多年的藏传佛教寺庙，免费开放，香火很旺。晚上去塞上老街吃烤羊腿，这条街旅游味重但烤肉水平在线。

Hohhot Baita Airport is close to downtown — 20-minute taxi. High-speed rail from Beijing takes about 2.5 hours. Start with Dazhao Temple — a 400-year-old Tibetan Buddhist temple, free entry, always busy with incense. Evening: head to Saishang Old Street for roast lamb leg. The street is touristy but the lamb is legit.

第2-3天：希拉穆仁草原 / Days 2–3: Xilamuren Grassland

从呼和浩特包车或跟团约2小时到希拉穆仁。这是离呼市最近的草原，开发成熟但依然辽阔到让人失语。

About 2 hours by chartered car or tour group from Hohhot. Xilamuren is the nearest grassland to the city — well-developed but still vast enough to leave you speechless.

第2天：骑马是必须的（约100-200元/小时），但别选最便宜的"牵马走"，要选能跑起来的。下午看蒙古族摔跤和射箭表演，晚上住蒙古包——真正的蒙古包，不是酒店伪装的那种。夜里出来看星空，没有光污染，银河肉眼可见。

Day 2: Horse riding is a must (¥100–200/hour) — skip the cheapest "led walk" option and pick one that actually gallops. Afternoon: watch Mongolian wrestling and archery. Night: sleep in a real yurt — not a hotel pretending to be one. Step outside after dark for the stars; zero light pollution, the Milky Way is visible to the naked eye.

第3天：早起看草原日出，然后体验挤牛奶、做奶茶。如果时间允许，可以开车深入草原腹地，远离旅游点的草场更安静，牛羊更多。下午返回呼和浩特。

Day 3: Wake for the grassland sunrise, then try milking cows and making milk tea. If time allows, drive deeper into the grassland — away from tourist spots, the pastures are quieter with more livestock. Return to Hohhot in the afternoon.

第4天：响沙湾沙漠 / Day 4: Resonant Sand Bay Desert

呼和浩特到响沙湾约3小时车程（也可坐火车到达拉特旗再转车）。响沙湾是库布齐沙漠的一部分，名字来源于沙子会"唱歌"——从沙丘顶滑下来时，沙子摩擦发出嗡嗡声。

About 3 hours by car from Hohhot (or train to Dalad Banner, then transfer). Resonant Sand Bay is part of the Kubuqi Desert — named because the sand "sings" when you slide down the dunes, producing a humming sound from friction.

滑沙、骑骆驼、沙漠越野车是三大项目。骑骆驼约100元/人，走一圈大概30分钟，骆驼很温顺但上下的时候会猛晃一下，抓紧。傍晚在沙漠里看日落，光线把沙丘染成金红色，这个画面值得专门来一趟。当晚可以住沙漠酒店或返回达拉特旗。

Sand sliding, camel riding, and desert buggies are the three main activities. Camel rides cost ~¥100 per person for a 30-minute loop — camels are gentle but lurch when standing up, so hold on. Watch the sunset from the dunes — the light turns the sand gold and crimson. Worth the entire trip for this moment alone. Stay at a desert hotel or head back to Dalad Banner for the night.

第5天：返程 / Day 5: Return

上午从响沙湾或达拉特旗返回呼和浩特，约3小时。如果航班是下午的，还能去内蒙古博物院（免费）看看——恐龙化石和蒙古族文物展都不错。

Morning drive back to Hohhot (~3 hours). If your flight is in the afternoon, squeeze in the Inner Mongolia Museum (free) — the dinosaur fossils and Mongolian cultural artifacts are both worth a look.

实用信息 / Practical Notes

最佳季节：7-9月草原最绿，但也是旺季。6月草刚变绿人少，性价比最高。冬天草原全是雪，另一种美但非常冷（零下20度常见）。

Best season: July–September for the greenest grass, but also peak season. June is when the grass just turns green with fewer crowds — best value. Winter is all snow — beautiful but brutally cold (–20°C is normal).

穿衣：草原昼夜温差大，夏天白天30度晚上可能10度，带一件厚外套。沙漠注意防晒，帽子墨镜防晒霜都要带。

Clothing: Grassland temperature swings are huge — 30°C daytime, possibly 10°C at night in summer. Bring a warm jacket. In the desert, sun protection is critical: hat, sunglasses, sunscreen.

骑马安全：第一次骑马选有人牵的，别逞强。穿长裤和运动鞋，不要穿凉鞋。

Horse riding safety: First-timers should choose guided rides. Wear long pants and sneakers — never sandals.
