中国书法艺术 | The Art of Chinese Calligraphy

书法被称为中国艺术的最高形式。一支毛笔、一碟墨汁，在黑白之间呈现无限的美感变化。

Calligraphy is considered the highest art form in China. A single brush and a dish of ink create infinite aesthetic variations between black and white.

五种书体 | Five Script Styles

篆书 | Seal Script — 最古老的书体，笔画圆润对称，常见于印章。秦始皇统一文字时推行小篆。

The oldest style with rounded, symmetrical strokes. Common on seal stamps. Qin Shi Huang standardized the Small Seal Script when unifying Chinese characters.

隶书 | Clerical Script — 汉代官方字体，笔画有明显的"蚕头燕尾"（起笔像蚕头，收笔像燕尾）。比篆书好认很多。

The official Han Dynasty script. Strokes feature distinctive "silkworm head, swallow tail" — the beginning resembles a silkworm's head and the ending a swallow's tail. Much more legible than seal script.

楷书 | Regular Script — 最"标准"的字体，也是初学者学习的首选。颜真卿和柳公权的楷书被视为巅峰。

The most "standard" script and the best starting point for beginners. Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan's regular script are considered the pinnacle.

行书 | Running Script — 楷书的快写版，笔画之间有连带。王羲之的《兰亭集序》被称为"天下第一行书"。

A faster form of regular script with connected strokes. Wang Xizhi's "Preface to the Orchid Pavilion" is called "the greatest running script under heaven."

草书 | Cursive Script — 极度简化的快写，非专业人士很难辨认。张旭和怀素的狂草如同抽象画。

Extremely simplified speed writing, nearly illegible to non-specialists. Zhang Xu and Huaisu's wild cursive resembles abstract painting.

体验书法 | Experience Calligraphy

北京琉璃厂 — 逛文房四宝店后，可以找书法老师上一堂体验课（约200元/小时）。

Beijing's Liulichang — after browsing calligraphy supply shops, take a lesson with a calligraphy teacher (about ¥200/hour).

西安碑林博物馆 — 收藏了从汉到清的3000多块碑刻，是书法爱好者的圣地。可以买碑帖拓片。

Xi'an's Forest of Stone Steles Museum houses over 3,000 steles from Han to Qing. A pilgrimage site for calligraphy lovers — you can buy ink rubbings.

公园晨练 — 很多城市公园早上有老人用大毛笔蘸水在地上写字（"地书"），有趣又免费，可以请教他们。

In many city parks, elders practice "ground calligraphy" — writing with large water-brushes on pavement. Fascinating and free — feel free to ask them about it.

小贴士 | Tips: 初次体验推荐从楷书入手，选一支中号兼毫笔。墨汁比研墨方便，不影响体验效果。 For first-timers, start with regular script using a medium mixed-hair brush. Bottled ink is more convenient than grinding your own and works fine for casual practice.
