农历五月初五端午节纪念爱国诗人屈原，核心活动是划龙舟和吃粽子。2024年端午在6月10日，放假3天，是夏季第一个小长假。

Dragon Boat Festival falls on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, honoring the patriotic poet Qu Yuan. Core activities are dragon boat racing and eating zongzi (sticky rice dumplings). In 2024 it's June 10th, with a 3-day holiday — summer's first long weekend.

龙舟观赛最佳地点 / Best Places to Watch Dragon Boat Races

湖南汨罗江：屈原投江之地，龙舟赛最正宗，当地人全城出动观赛，气氛热烈。比赛通常在端午当天。

Miluo River, Hunan: Where Qu Yuan drowned himself — the most authentic dragon boat races. The whole town turns out, creating an electric atmosphere. Races usually on the festival day itself.

广州荔枝湾涌：广州端午扒龙舟历史最悠久，珠江水系龙舟竞渡声势浩大，两岸挤满观众。荔枝湾涌还有龙舟探亲的独特习俗。

Litchi Bay, Guangzhou: Guangzhou has the longest dragon boat tradition. Pearl River dragon boat races are massive, with spectators packed along both banks. Litchi Bay features the unique dragon boat visiting custom.

贵州镇远古镇：舞阳河上的苗族龙舟赛独具特色——龙舟更窄更长，划手穿民族服装，伴有苗族歌舞表演。

Zhenyuan, Guizhou: Miao-style dragon boat races on the Wuyang River — boats are narrower and longer, rowers wear ethnic costumes, accompanied by Miao singing and dancing.

杭州西溪湿地：蒋村龙舟赛有五百年历史，特色是"翻龙舟"——故意翻船再翻正，象征吉祥。门票80元。

Xixi Wetlands, Hangzhou: Jiangcun dragon boat races have 500 years of history, featuring the tradition of deliberately capsizing and righting the boat for good luck. Entry 80 yuan.

北方粽子以甜味为主（红枣、豆沙），南方粽子以咸味为主（鲜肉、蛋黄肉粽）。嘉兴五芳斋肉粽最知名（10-15元/个）。端午期间超市和街头随处可买到现成粽子。
